End Live Sheep Exports

Labor wants to end cruelty in the live sheep export industry.

It’s clear this is unsustainable and simply has not changed for the better - despite constant promises and many reviews.

The Government had a chance to act in a meaningful way - it failed.

Labor will stop the northern summer sheep trade at the first opportunity and phase out all live sheep exports over time.

This is about ending the cruelty and supporting our sheep farmers to be sustainably profitable in the future, creating more local jobs.

Sign the petition and send a message to Morrison - end the cruelty now.

This is beyond a joke now… How much more evidence/science do we need before we start making the RIGHT decisions??

Animals are not objects to be transported for the profits of people but are living and feeling beings and to do this is wrong in so many ways.

All live export should come to an end. The entire industry is an appalling to anyone with an ounce of compassion.

    Dear Prime Minister,

One would hope that with the change of Government, there would be other positive changes, such as ending the Live Sheep Export Trade. What kind of a country is this that is (deliberately) blind to cruelty? One reason why you will fail to win Government that people are now aware of your lack of compassion for this – they are not ‘just sheep’, but sentient creatures forced into unnatural circumstances (being earth bound), eat unnatural food, the dust from which is blinding, crammed where they cannot move, suffer in the stink of their waste products, only to be harshly treated and suffer physical pain and terror on arrival IF they survive the journey. It is absolutely disgusting and shames Australia in the eyes of the civilized world.

Try & put yourself in the position of the sheep & try to imagine what they must be feeling – they must be so frightened & feel so miserable & they are probably very thirsty & hungry

This is a vote changing issue for me. I’m exceptionally disappointed on the Liberal MP’s who previously stated they would cross the floor to vote for this Bill, but since being appointed as Ministers, changed their mind. Seems typical of everything Australia has witnessed in Parliament of late with the Coalition. That is, their own positions seem far more important to them than the job they are meant to be doing, or the animals that suffer horrifically in live export voyages.
