LABOR WILL DELIVER A NEW $80,000 STAGE FOR KADINA HIGH

Labor will deliver a brand new $80,000 stage at Kadina High School for music, dance, and drama productions.

The Deputy Labor Leader, Tanya Plibersek, said the stage will be mobile so it can be used in the school’s multipurpose centre as well as locations outside the school.

“The scaffold based stage will also include a floor mounted sound system and an LED panel backdrop,” Ms Plibersek said.

“Kadina High is already a leader in the performing arts and entertainment training – this is about making sure they have facilities to match,” she said.

Labor candidate for Page, Patrick Deegan, said the whole community will benefit.

“The Northern Rivers is one of Australia’s great creative hubs”, Mr Deegan said.

“I want our kids to have access to more professional performing arts experiences.

“All 5500 students in The Rivers P-12 Community of Schools will be able to take advantage of the new $80,000 stage.

“Kadina High has also built a number relationships throughout the community and industry including providing production for the Bluesfest Grommets Busking Competition, large scale musical theatre, the Lismore Lantern Parade, and the Moorambilla project.

“Labor’s investment will help improve opportunities for students to work with some of the top professional technicians in our local area,” Mr Deegan said.
