MALCOLM TURNBULL’S  SCHOOL FUNDING NO COMMITMENT, JUST A ‘GUESSTIMATE’ SAYS LIBERAL MP

One of Malcolm Turnbull’s own MPs has blown apart the Liberals’ schools funding policy, saying it’s not a commitment, just a “guesstimate”.

On ABC Radio earlier this week, the Liberal Member for Gilmore, Ann Sudmalis, said that under Malcolm Turnbull’s policy, schools have “funding going forward, for as far as they know, 4 years, there’s a guesstimate of 10 – but no government can absolutely commit to that.”

About 90 per cent of the Liberals’ much lower funding for schools won’t even begin to flow until five years from now. So the only thing Australian schools can be sure of is that Malcolm Turnbull is cutting them by at least $22 billion.

This just confirms what Australians already know: that you can’t trust the Liberals on education.

Labor has announced we will restore the $22 billion Malcolm Turnbull has cut from schools.

That’s because we believe every child, in every classroom, deserves every opportunity.

We want better schools, better results, and better support for our great teachers.
