Sydney Says Yes

We didn’t want this vote, LGBTI Australians deserve better, but we have to win it.

If this postal survey is to go ahead we must do everything we can to make sure we are ready for the fight.

I need your help to show that the momentum for equality in Australia is unstoppable.

Two consenting adults regardless of gender should be able to legally marry each other if they choose to. The government should not be allowed to dictate which adults can and can’t legally marry. Get with the times please.

I’m gay and I should have equal rights to marry if I wish. Same sex De facto relationship are accepted in Family Law, then why can’t we marry.

If they can, why can’t I? I’ve never broken a law, I contribute socially and financially to my community and wider society, I didn’t get a say on anyone else’s right to marry so why should anyone else get a say on mine. It’s a civil right and these politicians are blocking it with religion and fear-mongering.

There is absolutely no reason why a free vote should not be held immediately and stop this ridiculous stalling

Decency and acceptance of differences, love is love and if those who do discriminate kept their minds out of gay peoples bedrooms they wouldn’t have an issue with gay relationships. I wonder why heterosexuals are not judged by their bedroom behaviour.?

WE are a family with gorgeous girls who have 2 mums; we love our girls and want them to know that ‘love is love’ and fairness for all. We are treated, for commonwealth/taxation/childcare purposes, exactly the same as those couples legally married, so why can we not be treated equally in ALL EYES of the law!!

I am against any form of discrimination when it comes to citizens rights. Many couples choose not to marry but if that is any couples aspiration it should not be discriminated against.

My son and his partner of 17 years deserve to have the marriage they crave. They should have the same opportunity as everyone else under the Marriage Act.

All love should be treated equally. AS someone who has been married in Canada for the last 11 years to my partner, I think we are proof of this and I want all Australians to have this option.

I can serve my country by being a member of the armed forces but I am not afforded the right to marry! It’s time Prime Minister Turnbull stood up and became a true leader and stopped pandering to the religious right of his party. Majority of Australians support marriage equality, it’s time the coalition did as well.

All love is equal- no more need be said !!

It should neither be denied or exploited for the political gain of the few grey headed Liberal MP’’s such as Malcolm !!
